Rheumatologist is an internist who specializes in the treatment of joints, muscle, bones and tendons diseases. Rheumatologists treat joint disease similar to orthopedists but do not perform surgeries. They diagnose and treats arthritis, back pain, muscle strains, common athletic injuries and 'collagen' diseases.
